Flowers aren’t my only love—of course there’s my husband and my children, then right up there, are puppies! And so, we are beyond excited to pick up our newest foster pup this weekend.

Exploring how I define myself and how we are perceived, are the overriding themes of my life. I’ve realized it’s my way of figuring out how I fit in my search for belonging.

When Covid came, I shut my floral business and found myself, at home, full-time, again, tending to my three beautiful children. Teetering on the precipice of sanity, maintaining balance with chocolate in one hand and coffee in the other, surrounded by loves, friends and community, I turned back to writing, poetry mostly, my first love, as an outlet. Eternally curious about what’s going on, and sharing it out for the first time, here.

::: PART OF MY PATH :::

At a bonfire party in 2020 I met an incredible woman. We shared our dreams of opening a store that would feel like a home, bring community together to share their expertise, and feed people. Within the week, she and I launched what became the hōm market. She continues to run it beautifully, while I’ve called on my broadcast journalism roots to collaborate with Sarah Epps, of Potluck Production, collecting, creating and sharing Market Stories—a limited edition podcast series celebrating 25 years of the Hastings on Hudson Farmer’s Market, while weaving in our stories of what we value, hold dear, and want to connect more deeply to in our everyday lives.

What I’ve learned these past few years of being involved with my kids’ schools and Village life, is that we’re stronger when we gather in community spaces, come out for one another and enjoy life together!
